Who’s Behind ConsultaED?

Meet the Founder: Dr. Cassie Castro

Hello, I’m Cassie – the founder of ConsultaED, educator, leadership coach, and advocate for the people who do the daily work of leading, teaching, and supporting others.

With more than 15 years of experience in education leadership and special education across K–12 settings, I created ConsultaED from a simple but powerful belief:
The way we communicate shapes the way we lead, the way teams function, and ultimately, whether people are able to sustain the work they care about.

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of St. Thomas and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Bethel University. My professional journey has included leading special education systems, guiding MTSS implementation, coaching educators, and supporting school teams in building clear, collaborative, and student-centered practices.

Over time, my work expanded beyond systems and compliance to focus on something deeper: the human side of leadership. I saw how trust, clarity, emotional steadiness, and well-being directly shape team culture, staff sustainability, and the experiences of those we serve.

That realization led to the creation of ConsultaED and to my leadership framework captured in Fix the Talk. Lead the Team.
Because communication is not just part of culture, it creates culture.

Today, through leadership learning, strategic consultation, and coaching, I partner with schools, teams, and organizations to:

  • strengthen relational leadership and trust
  • protect staff capacity and well-being
  • build communication habits that create sustainable, healthy teams

My work is grounded in both professional expertise and lived leadership experience, with a commitment to helping leaders create environments where people can contribute, grow, and remain well over time.

Because strong teams are not built by pressure or policy alone, they are built through clear leadership, healthy communication, and relationships that last.

Dr. Castro’s Leadership Beliefs

1. Communication creates culture.

What leaders say and how consistently they say it, shapes trust, clarity, and the emotional tone of a team every single day.

2. Strong teams are built through relationships, not pressure.

Accountability matters, but sustainable performance grows where people feel supported, respected, and connected to one another.

3. Leadership must be lived, not just labeled.

Titles and intentions don’t change culture: daily actions, steady follow-through, and clear conversations do.

4. Well-being is not separate from leadership; it sustains it.

When leaders protect their own capacity and model healthy communication, teams are far more able to remain engaged, resilient, and effective over time.

5. Clarity is one of the most generous things a leader can offer.

Clear expectations, honest conversations, and consistent follow-through reduce overwhelm and allow people to do their best work.

6. Every conversation is an opportunity to build or erode trust.

Small moments of listening, tone, and response accumulate into the culture people experience each day.

7. Sustainable leadership is the goal.

Success isn’t measured only by outcomes achieved today, but by whether people can continue the work tomorrow: healthy, committed, and able to thrive.

An Invitation to the Work

If you’re leading people, shaping culture, or carrying responsibility for a team’s well-being, you already know this work is deeply human. The conversations we choose, the clarity we offer, and the care we model each day shape far more than outcomes; they shape the experience of everyone doing the work.

ConsultaED exists to support leaders who want to build strong, healthy, and sustainable teams through intentional communication and relational leadership. Whether you’re strengthening a school community, guiding a coaching staff, or leading an organization through change, this work begins the same way—one clear, honest conversation at a time.

If this message resonates with you, I invite you to explore the services, read Fix the Talk. Lead the Team., or reach out to begin a conversation. I would be honored to partner with you in building leadership that people can trust and teams that can truly thrive.
